Miss Columbia's Paulina Vega was crowned as the Miss Universe 2014 winner during last Sunday's coronation night. However, her win - and the rest of the results that night - were met with several cries of injustice.

Social media users who watched the Miss Universe coronation posted their disappointment at the results. Even the crowd at the Florida International University Arena in Miami jeered and booed the results as soon as Miss Jamaica was announced as the fourth runner-up.

Kaci Fennell was an obvious crowd favorite, if the messages of support from Twitter and Facebook were any indication. However, she lost the chance to become the first ever Jamaican to win the crown that night to Miss Columbia.

"I wanted Jamaica to win. Her look was dope, beautiful, unique & she was very smart. I have to say I'm very upset," a fan tweeted.

According to Daily Mail, the 22-year-old stunner gained a huge following thanks to her "unconventional style." Fennell wore her hair in a Halle Berry-style pixie cut and oozed confidence that reportedly didn't match the image of a traditional Miss Universe.

On the other hand, the Miss Universe 2014 winner, Vega, looked "every-inch the beauty queen" according to the publication.

"I don't have long tresses like everyone else, I'm just representing myself and that's what beauty pageants are all about," The Daily Mail quoted Fennell about her edgy look. "You don't have to look a certain way ... and I feel like I represent that."

While, some fans thought that Miss Jamaica lost the crown due to her non-traditional looks, others believed that it was her response to the question and answer portion that stopped her from earning a higher position in the competition.

She proudly mentioned Usain Bolt (known for being the fastest man in the world) and Bob Marley (the legendary reggae artist) as her country's biggest contribution to the world.

Despite the social media outrage at her not being the Miss Universe 2014 winner, however, Fennell defended the girls she competed with on the show.

"We help each other out when we see fit. It's such a kind, caring group of girls," she reportedly told Entertainment Tonight. "I wouldn't have it any other way."
