Sam Smith And Boyfriend Broke Up Already? Doesn’t Like Dating Apps Like Grindr And Tinder! Wants ‘Excitement’ And Something ‘Unobtainable!’
It looks like Sam Smith and his boyfriend broke up only a couple of weeks after going public.
The Grammy Award nominee started dating Jonathan Zeizel after they filmed Smith's "Like I Can" music video. They spent Christmas in Australia and Zeizel even posted an Instagram video of the award winning singer belting out Beyonce's "Drunk In Love" in the shower just a couple of weeks ago.
They were reportedly together for less than a month before the "Stay With Me" crooner announced the break up during a performance in Toronto, Canada.
"This song is very special for me today. It's because I've actually had to do a very similar thing today with someone I've been seeing," Smith reportedly told the crowd in Toronto before proceeding to (ironically) sing "Like I Can."
According to Entertainment Tonight, the announcement was posted on Vine by a fan.
Internation Business Times also reported that the British powerhouse singer continued to tell his Canadian fans that he hopes to "find someone soon."
Sam Smith and his boyfriend's break up was further confirmed when the musician himself posted a photo with a telling caption on Instagram.
"Sometimes you just need to lay in bed with a glass of red wine and a football T shirt and listen to Joni Mitchell. It's been a sad day. Beautiful show, but sad day," he wrote with the snap of himself holding up some wine and pouting at the camera.

He may be hoping to meet someone new soon, but the "Leave Your Lover" singer doesn't like the idea of going on dating apps to look for love.
"I want that excitement. I want something that's unobtainable," he recently told GQ Magazine. "I made a statement recently about how Grindr and Tinder and those dating apps are just killing romance. People are losing the ability to just walk up to people in a bar and say hello. Sex is on tap, isn't it, with apps like that?"
He further confessed that the prospect of meeting someone "fully dressed in a suit" that you have "to work to undress" is quite sexy.
