Sam Smith’s Future Boyfriend Has Some Work Cut Out For Him! ‘Stay With Me’ Singer Thanks Past Heart Breaker For Grammy Wins

Sam Smith's boyfriend, Jonathan Zeizel, may have reportedly left him some weeks before the biggest night of his career but the British crooner didn't get a chance to miss him last Sunday.

In fact, he was busy going up and down the 2015 Grammy Awards stage to receive four trophies thanks to his hit song, "Stay With Me."

He even joked with Ellen DeGeneres about going to the awards show dateless because he had "to be lonely in the Grammys."

On winning the Record of the Year award, however, the 22-year-old newcomer thanked the guy who gave him the broken heart that inspired his "In The Lonely Hour" album.

"I just found it funny that such a sad record and such a sad experience turned out to be such a happy one," he said during the "Ellen DeGeneres Show."

As for future lovers, Smith told the daytime talk show host that a hefty job awaits the guys he'll meet later in life.

"I've just got to make sure my next boyfriend can polish my Grammys for me," he quipped, making the Emmy Award winning host erupt into laughter.

He also shared the same joke to Pink News, who wondered about the possible characteristics of Sam Smith's next boyfriend.

"Patience..." he reportedly answered, "and someone who can clean these every day for me."

"I do not know what I'm looking for, and the moment I start looking it's not going to come my way," he continued to share. "I'm just looking for some crazy love story."

He does wish for a boyfriend but thinks that wouldn't top the trophies he now has.

"That's the curse of the rest of my life, I think," he lamented.

DeGeneres warned him about opportunists who would be "all over" him now that he has four Grammy wins to his name. Hopefully, Sam Smith's next boyfriend would be someone who would love him for himself and not for the fame he's currently experiencing.
