According to the International Business Times, "The Vampire Diaries" star could be one of the guests for her ex-boyfriend and close friend's nuptials.

Hollywood Life reported that Somerhalder, who has been playing the heartthrob vampire Damon Salvatore in the CW series, wants to spend the special day with the cast of crew.. Playing one of the show's lead characters, Elena Gilbert, Dobrev has to be included in the guest list.

However, the publication's source said that the bue-eyed hunk doesn't entirely feel comfortable with the idea of having his ex-girlfriend at his wedding with Nikki Reed.

"If it is a big wedding Ian feels that he has to ask Nina to go, but anticipates her to respectfully decline. That would be a win win," the insider reportedly revealed.

The only way for Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed to escape such an awkward situation is if the newly engaged couple will plan an intimate affair (with only their family members present).

"Then they can make the excuse that they didn't invite any cast members. One thing for sure is that it is a problem they are definitely trying to figure out," the source further shared.

The brunette beauty and the 36-year-old actor broke up back in 2013. The three years that they spent together is constantly being compared to Somerhalder and Reed's decision to marry half a year into their relationship.

The newly engaged couple will reportedly tie the knot in June, according to InTouch Magazine.

Meanwhile, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder's respective characters in "The Vampire Diaries" are back together once again. This sparked a rumor of a feud going on between Dobrev and the former "Twilight" star on the set of the show in Atlanta.
