Could a season 1 character return in the next few episodes? New "Scandal" season 4 spoilers are hinting on the possibility.

According to International Business Times, Stephen Finch, played by Henry Ian Cusic, could make his return to the series after making an abrupt exit after season 1.

""Scandal" fans that have been with the show since Season 1 are very familiar with Stephen. He was one of Olivia's gladiators and a senior associate at the firm. Stephen was known for sleeping around town, but developed a serious relationship with a woman named Georgia," IBT noted.

"According to the Hollywood Reporter at the time, it was a 'mutual decision' between Cusick and creator Shonda Rhimes to not pick up his contract for a second season. However, the pair reportedly parted on 'good terms.'"

Now that Cusic's character has been mentioned, several "Scandal" season 4 spoilers are speculating that he might be the highest bidder and winner of the auction.

"'Scandal' subtly dropped Stephen's name in episode 12. Jake (Scott Foley) found Quinn (Katie Lowes) sitting in Harrison's (Columbus Short) old office - which was Stephen's old office," IBT noted.

And as fans can remember, Darby Stanchfield who plays Abby on the show, teased on a huge revelation that will shock everyone.  Could this be Stephen Finch's return?

"There is the most freakin' hugest surprise that happens in the next four episodes that the original Gladiators are going to freak out over," Stanchfield said. "The only clue I can give you is that fans of the first season are going to lose their minds."
