Good news gamers, Turtle Rock Studio's highly lauded first-person shooter video game, "Evolve" was finally released last week.

Published by 2K Games, "Evolve" is distributed by Take-Two Interactive. According to SoHood, the game centers on four hunters who have the task of hunting and killing a monster, that may be A.I controlled or user controlled. The exciting part is tracking and anticipating its movement. Gamers also have the option of playing as the monster and kill the hunters.

In the adrenaline-pumping 4v1 matches, gamers can choose one of four Hunter classes i.e. Assault, Trapper, Medic and Support. IGN states, Gamers can level up in order to unlock upgrades, skins, perks as well as new Hunter or Monster characters.

Released on Feb. 10, 2015 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, IGN notes that on the planet Shear, where "Evolve" is set on, even the flora and fauna act as a rival to man and monster alike.

According to SoHood, the game excels when four players communicate via microphones and work as a team. Each player picks up the slack in order to defect the monster. The raging, fast paced gameplay requires gamers to rescue survivors, destroy eggs and at the same time avoid the monster. SoHood notes, irrespective of what game mode you are playing, it's always four hunters Vs the monster. Needless to say, players always have to be on their toes, be watchful on where the monster might be lurking. As soon as the monster reaches stage three, it becomes extremely hard to kill thus players also need to be attentive on what evolving stage the monster is currently at.

According to WashingtonTimes, there are a total of 12 hunter characters, players can choose from. Each character has a different personality, name as well as specific gear. Depending on their roles, hunters have numerous tricks and weapons to use to find and kill the monster. Cloaking devices, shotguns, flamethrowers, land mines, radioactive dust to tag beasts, rocket launcher, sniper rifles, tracker dart, a mysterious Lazarus power that allows players to bring a teammate back from the dead, harpoon cable, a napalm grenade launcher and tranquilizers are some of the weapons and items included.

Daisy, a lizard-like canine gives the hunters an unfair advantage. The creature sniffs out and follows the monster thus helping the hunter to surround and attack it. Daisy can also revive a fallen teammate completely by simply licking his face.

According to GameSpot, 2K Games released a detailed infographic that reveals some of the game's first-week achievements. However, a unit sale number for the title is still missing.
