Lee Tae Sung and his wife were going to have a proper wedding ceremony but somehow the timing never seemed right. And now the actor and his wife have divorced.

The couple met in 2009 through a mutual friend. She was described as pretty, smart, a non-celebrity and seven years older than the 29-year-old actor. Lee registered his marriage along with the birth of his son in 2011, but he waited to announce the marriage until November of 2012. At the same time he shocked fans by telling them that he already had a year-old son. At that time the couple planned to have a wedding ceremony in March 2013.

The plans for couple's first wedding ceremony were postponed when they discovered that they were going to be parents. They decided to focus on the mother's health rather than deal with the stress of planning a ceremony. Then, shortly after their child was born, Lee's much-loved grandmother became ill and passed away. Then his grandfather died and the couple decided not to have a wedding ceremony during the period of mourning.

The couple began planning a ceremony again just before he was cast in the drama "I Summon You Gold." As a result, the wedding was postponed yet again. The couple made plans for another ceremony only to have to postpone them because of Lee Tae Sung's military assignment as a full-time active-duty reserve officer.

His former agency Glory MK announced at the time that he would have a wedding ceremony when he finished his mandatory military duty.

On February 23 Glory MK told the Korean media outlet Daily Sports that the couple recently agreed to end their marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. The actor is currently not signed with Glory MK.

"Lee Tae Sung enlisted in the military soon after registering the marriage," said the Glory MK representative. "They decided to go separate ways due to reasons such as clashing personalities and communication problems caused by unfavorable circumstances. Both parties have agreed to the divorce."

Lee Tae Sung will get custody of his 4-year-old son. The actor will be discharged from his mandatory military duty in July.

Lee Tae Sung is best known for his roles in "Blossom Again," "Time Between Dog and Wolf," "Playful Kiss," "Love Cheer" and for playing Park Yoochun's evil cousin in the drama "Rooftop Prince."
