Nissan Unveiled New ‘Sway Concept,’ 2016 Maxima Might Sport A Baggy Front Grille?

Nissan's sport sedan concept is expected to deliver great quality and looks after being awarded as the Best Concept by Auto Week magazine during the 2014 North American International Auto Show.

According to the company's website, the 2016 Nissan Maxima will be modeled after the award-winning sport sedan concept.

However, recent report from automobile.com noted that it might not be the case since the Japanese automaker might be "going too far with the swooping grille in the front." This implies that the new 2016 Nissan Maxima might sport a baggy front grille.

The 2016 Nissan Maxima had been introduced in a 90-second commercial flashed in the Super Bowl, showing its new v-shape grille.

According to quikdocs.com, the design enhanced the overall look of the upcoming Nissan vehicle. However, the publication noted that the Nissan Sway Concept made the grill "borderline ugly," appearing like a "low-hanging diaper."

Instead of a sporty look, the 2016 Nissan Maxima might look "too swoopy" than "upscale" according to automobile.com.

While Nissan is still in the process of developing its design, the company is promising a modern concept.

"Next-generation Nissan design cues like a 'floating' roof, V-Motion front end, and rakish boomerang-shaped headlights and taillights give it an air of openness and motion rarely found in a sedan. The striking Concept is finished off with an exclusive Strad Amber paint that recalls the rich, deep colors found on classic violins." stated in the Nissan website.

"Building sports car performance and personality into 4-door, five passenger sedans has been a Nissan tradition for decades. Now, we introduce the Sport Sedan Concept to continue that tradition. Inspired by modern furniture design, the interior utilizes geometric shapes, metallic accents, contrasting colors, and advanced ergonomics for an ultra-modern, driver-focused atmosphere," it added.

The final look of the 2016 Nissan Maxima will be unveiled this April at the 2015 New York International Auto Show.
