Meanwhile, car enthusiasts can wait until April for the unveiling of the 2016 Nissan Maxima sports sedan in the upcoming New York International Auto Show.

Nissan stated in its website that the 2016 Nissan Maxima will be modelled after the award-winning sport sedan concept.

"Building sports car performance and personality into 4-door, five passenger sedans has been a Nissan tradition for decades. Now, we introduce the Sport Sedan Concept to continue that tradition," Nissan website indicated. "Inspired by modern furniture design, the interior utilizes geometric shapes, metallic accents, contrasting colors, and advanced ergonomics for an ultra-modern, driver-focused atmosphere."

"Next-generation Nissan design cues like a 'floating' roof, V-Motion front end, and rakish boomerang-shaped headlights and taillights give it an air of openness and motion rarely found in a sedan," it added.

This concept to be featured on 2016 Nissan Maxima was recognized as the Best Concept by Auto Week Magazine at the 2014 North American International Auto Show.
