Demi Lovato has been making good use of her Instagram to empower her female fans so they can develop a healthy body image.

In her Instagram, Wilmer Valderrama's girlfriend posted a photo of her bikini body while sunbathing. She captioned the photo, "Regardless of what society tells you these days... You don't have to have a thigh gap to be beautiful. It is possible to love your body the way it is. #fitness #health #acceptance #selflove"

A fan wrote, "Finally. A talented celebrity who inspires others and doesn't need to show all the time how good the're looking"

Another said, "Wait a thigh gap is considered beautiful? I never knew that @brandileau."

"Preach Demi, some people are selfish and shallow.. Your the real role model," another of her followers noted.

"So true for awhile I have been dealing with an ED but u helping me though it and making me realised you," said one of her fans.

Photoshopping images of women to display a thigh gap have become the latest trend in Hollywood.

Lately, a photo that Beyonce uploaded on her Instagram where she's climbing down the stairs of a yacht was rumored to be tweaked to show a thigh gap.

"In one of the pics, B smiles as she walks down the stairs, showing off her hot bod and stylish tattoo jewelry. Upon closer inspection, however, the pic seems to be tampered with just a bit," said Hollywood Life. " The stair that lays in between the singers legs looks suspiciously distorted!"

Demi Lovato credited boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama for helping her deal with her eating disorder, during an interview with Fitness Magazine.

"I almost went back to rehab for my eating disorder last summer. I was obsessing over food and terrified of it at the same time. Wilmer [Valderrama, her boyfriend] noticed and called me out on it, which was a relief," Demi Lovato said per Fitness Magazine. "I was done being afraid of food and so tired of overeating and not knowing why I did it. Now I'm on a structured meal plan. I eat four small meals and two snacks a day. It's teaching me portion control."
