Dodge temporarily suspended orders for Charger Hellcat and Challenger Hellcat. The company stopped getting orders of the 707HP hot cars for the time being due to astonishing demand.

"Due to unprecedented demand for the 2015 Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcats, we are temporarily restricting orders while we validate current orders that are in the system," Dodge told FoxNews.com.

Reportedly, the two Dodge Hellcats, the 199 mph Challenger and 204 mph Charger share the title of "most powerful American production car in history." Dodge was overwhelmed with the bulk of orders it received which was "twice as many as it planned to build for 2015."

"The shortage has led to 50 percent markups on the $60,000-plus by some dealers, while others have reportedly taken dozens of deposits on cars they could take years to deliver, leading Dodge to warn customers of what it called 'unscrupulous' behavior," FoxNews.com stated.

"The temporary production halt will give FCA time to sort out the tangle of customer orders and dealer allotments. The automaker has still not decided how to handle cases in which dealers have taken orders in excess of their allotment," CNN Money reported.

According to Digital Trends, Charger Hellcat is a $63,995 four-door hot car. It has speed of 202.2 mph against the wind and can reach 206.9 mph with the air pushing it.

CNN reported that the Challenger Hellcat "is the most powerful regular production musclecar ever made. It's powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine."

"It sits quietly, patiently, like it's stalking prey. Then suddenly, your red key unlocks and awakens the unprecedented 707 horsepower of the most powerful muscle car on the planet," driversrt.com describe the Challenger Hellcat.

Fox News noted that at the moment, the company is still mum about the date the order books will be opened but "according to a source at AllParNews.com it could be August before Dodge gets caught up."
