Zayn Malik just quit the One Direction world tour and rumors are rife that it was because he wanted to save his engagement with Perrie Edwards following the cheating rumors. But has it earned the bad graces of co-creator Simon Cowell?

"Simon has had his own run-ins with what Zayn is dealing with and has told Zayn to be the man he is and own it," an article from Hollywood Life claimed. "Simon is confident that Zayn is OK and will be OK after taking some time off. He knows that the {members of the] band are all brothers and they will not break up and are there for him as well."

"Simon feels for Zayn and has told him on many occasions he is there for him at any time he is needed. The boys are friends and not only a paycheck for Simon, he really cares about them and after speaking to Zayn he feels things are getting blown out of proportion," the source added.

Previously, Hollywood Life alleged that Zayn Malik had to quit the world tour and abandoning the rest of the One Direction members because of the ultimatum from Perrie Edwards to end their engagement.

"She was furious about the pictures of him holding hands with an attractive blond fan, and delivered an ultimatum to leave the tour and fix their relationship," the source told the site.

"Zayn's been away on a world tour and it's difficult for them to maintain their commitment when they aren't together. Perrie reiterated, 'Get home if you want to sort this mess out, or we're done,'" the source added.

The controversy started when Zayn Malik was snapped getting cozy with a blond named Lauren during One Direction's concert in Thailand, which kicked off the rumors that his engagement to Perrie Edwards is at risk.

But People reported that Zayn Malik's engagement to Perrie Edwards might be safe, but it's the extra attention from the cheating claims that placed undue stress to the One Direction hottie.

"He finds the fame more difficult to deal with than the others," the source said. "Zayn finds the fact that everyone is looking at him all the time a bit much - and he has for years. Even at the start of the band he was finding it really hard to deal with the constant intrusion.
