"General Hospital" spoilers revealed that actor Ian Buchanan is leaving the show for good, and his character Duke Lavery will disappear in a "dire plot twist."

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, TV Guide reporter Michael Logan took to Twitter to confirm the disappointing news.

"SO WRONG. I am hearing that Ian Buchanan is out at GH in dire plot twist, ABC PR says 'no comment.' Fantastic actor. Legacy character. Poor decision," he said.

Yet, ABC has still yet to release an official statement as to whether Ian Buchanan is leaving the show for good. In some reports abouts "General Hospital" spoilers, several websites have already started guessing on what this "dire plot twist" is all about.

"General Hospital" spoilers from Celeb Dirty Laundry speculated that Duke would confess to a crime that he had previously committed and take the blame for Sonny's past mistakes so that Sonny could remain a free man.

Since 1986, Buchanan has already been playing a very notable character in "General Hospital" as Duke Lavery. Buchanan's character Duke has constantly been on the third wheel with his lover, Anna & Robert.

On the other hand, Ian Buchanan himself hints on the departure of his character from the show. Ian retweeted a post of one of his fans with username @MacTango Unchained saying, "PS: Remember THIS late last year?! #DukeLavery trended WORLDWIDE, Partners in Plaid! HELL YES! #GH @KilttripUSA."

Fans are already devastated with the rumored departure of Buchanan from "General Hospital." as most of the fans are tweeting already distressful tweets about Buchanan's bitter end.
