Josh Bowman Ventures Into Action After Leaving 'Revenge;' Emily VanCamp's Boyfriend Makes His Way To Big Screen Via 'Level Up'

After starring in a TV drama for a few years, Josh Bowman is trying to shed off his campy image by venturing into action in the new movie, "Level Up."

According to Fans Share, the new film featuring Emily VanCamp's boyfriend allows Josh Bowman to showcase his acting chops.

"Josh Bowman is sending a message that he wants to play complex, 'dark', challenging characters to casting agents, producers and directors in Hollywood and Europe," the report said. "That is the impression some entertainment observers are getting after a picture of him from the set of his new movie 'Level Up' was released to the Internet."

In the released photo, Josh Bowman's appearance-showing him sporting a full beard and cropped hair--was a drastic departure from his Daniel Grayson character in "Revenge." In the ABC hit series, the character of Emily VanCamp was blamed for his death.

The article also noted that the role played by Josh Bowman in "Level UP" offers him "much more of an opportunity to display their dramatic range which fits perfectly with his situation because he is an actor who possesses an extensive dramatic acting range."

Screen Daily reported that principal photography for "Level Up" is ongoing in London.

"In 'Level Up,' Bowman stars as a man who must make his way across London while fighting off a host of sinister characters to save his kidnapped girlfriend," the report said.

The film, financed by Fulwell, Quickfire, Independent and DP Film, will be directed by Adam Randall, who helmed the short "Hooded" back in 2007, as he will work on a script written by Gary Young of "Harry Brown."

The executive producers for Josh Bowman's new film are Leo Pearlman, Jan Pace, James Atherton and Philip Herd.

Josh Bowman's character Daniel Grayson was killed off in "Revenge" after Emily VanCamp's boyfriend admitted that he wanted to move on to other roles.
