According to VG 24/7, Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon talked about a new twist in the during the an interview with Angry Joe.

Boon told Angry Joe that a new type of Challenge Towers will be introduced in the game, called the "Living Towers"and he claims that players might encounter the DLC characters in rare situations.

“And every time you turn the game on, there’s going to be three towers in the Living Towers section" Boon said to Angry Joe. "One changes every hour, one changes every day, and one is called the Premier Tower, which is kind of like an event tower."

“So for instance, if [DLC character Jason Voorhees] comes along, you’re going to have a Jason tower that you play as Jason. And you can even use that tower if you didn’t purchase Jason. So it’s really cool, it gives the players a taste of what the character [is] and what it’s like to play them,” Boon adds.

"Mortal Kombat X" will be available on April 14 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One, while the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will launch in summer 2015 .
