Leading ladies often get all the credit in a k-drama but there are a few supporting actresses who are so funny that their involvement can make a story sparkle.

Three funny actresses stand out for us and their comic work deserves a shout out. They are Jo Eun Ji, Kim Seul Gi and Go Su Hee.

Jo Eun Ji currently plays the tough-talking detective friend of Kim So Yeon in "Falling for Innocence," also known as "Falling For Soon Jung." Whether Jo Eun Ji plays a feisty police officer or a revenge-driven heiress editor she is always a memorable supporting actor. She played Bae Soo Bin's one-night-stand in "The Greatest Marriage" and Son Ye Jin's loyal entrepreneur friend in "Personal Taste."

Jo Eun Ji is also funny in films, having appeared in the comedy "How To Steal A Dog."

Kim Seul Gi's long history of wanting to elicit laughs led her to become a cast member of Korea's Saturday Night Live. Now she also has a list of funny k-drama characters to her credit. She played the bleary-eyed webtoon editor in "Flower Boys Next Door" and Jung Yu Mi's best friend and housemate in "Discovery of Love." She was recently cast as a ghost in "Oh My Ghost" and given how spooky she looked as the "Flower Boys Next Door" editor, it could be inspired casting. Her character is Soon Ae, a virgin ghost possessed by a demon. That ghost will inhabit the body of a humble sous chef, creating many problems but ultimately giving her the courage to change her life.

Go Su Hee recently wrapped up the drama "Angry Mom." She played the character Han Gong Joo, who was Kim Hee Sun's best friend from high school. She dressed up in fairy tale costumes when she was not pretending to be Kim Hee Sun's mom when she was pretending to be a student. Even when she was pretending to be a mom her outfits and mannerisms were comically memorable. Her character also commanded two equally oddly dressed minions. Go Su Hee previously appeared in "Big" as Lee Gyung Mi but she's mostly a film actress having played a gambler in the film "Tazza 2."

Are there any supporting actresses that you think are always a welcome addition to any k-drama cast? Let us know who makes you laugh.
