WWE Superstar Rusev Injures His Foot Or Ankle At WWE SmackDown While Taping Match Against 'The Big Guy' Ryback! Will He Miss The Elimination Chamber PPV?

Looks like a bad news for the Bulgarian Brute, Rusev, as he may end up missing the Elimination Chamber PPV citing his foot or ankle injury during WWE SmackDown tapings.

Following the recent storyline split between Rusev and Lana, the Bulgarian Brute appeared to injure his foot or ankle during his match with "The Big Guy," Ryback at Tuesday's SmackDown tapings frp, Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

Following the match, Rusev was helped to his back where the company put a brace. After the show, Rusev was seen in a wheelchair, Daily Wrestling News noted.

According to reports on Inquisitr, it is believed that Rusev's valet and WWE Diva Lana is slated to eventually quit her Russian gimmick, but this will not happen abruptly. For the moment, the intention was to keep Lana and Rusev in a storyline that would sooner or later lead to the both of them going different directions.

That being said, Rusev's injury may put the storyline on hold.

Rusev's injury comes in the heels of WWE's plan to do a lot with him in the coming month in order to help build his character back up following three straight pay-per-views loses to John Cena.

Basically, the idea was to have the two to work together for next few months. Moreover, the Dolph Ziggler, Lana storyline was supposed to begin at the Elimination Chamber PPV where Rusev was set to crush Ziggler to get revenge on him for taking his manager, Lana away.

"The Super-Athlete" was not actually set to win the upcoming Elimination Chamber match he is part of. The company did not plan on Rusev winning the vacant Intercontinental Championship at the moment.

No doubt, Rusev could win titles later but WWE is currently focusing on pushing Lana for the big storyline, and as Rusev is connected to Lana character professionally and privately, he is a big part of this too.

Unless Rusev is seriously injured, WWE will continue the Lana storyline as planned. In addition, if the injury is serious, Rusev may end up missing the Elimination Chamber PPV and the next couple of months.
