CM Punk teased his wrestling return yet again as Absolute Intense Wrestling co-owner John Thorne invited "Mr. Money in the Bank" to make a comeback to sports entertainment. However, he never showed up at the event, though he responded to his invitation on Twitter.

Recently TNA star Samoa Joe hinted the return of his close friend and former WWE Superstar CM Punk to wrestling ring, further adding fuel to the speculations that the "Best in the World" will someday step in the four-sided ring again.

But it's not just the wrestling fans including the WWE Universe that's hoping CM Punk returns to wrestling. Despite the fact that he ended his wrestling career in January last year, he still remains relevant in the circle of sports entertainment, Ecumenical News noted.

That being said, Phil Brooks a.k.a. CM Punk's new career isn't all that different from his old job. Punk is currently focusing on his MMA career after being signed to the UFC. His moved stirred conversations as many are aware that the real dangers of MMA exceed that of sports entertainment.

Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW) had put on a show this past weekend in which they had "The Samoan Submission Machine," and Punk's friend Samoa Joe wrestling on the card. John Thorne, AIW co-owner took to his Twitter to announce that he'd cancel a match between Johnny Gargano and Samoa Joe if CM Punk was willing to show up and wrestle, according to reports on Inquisitr.

Probably unexpectedly, CM Punk responded.

"How much?" he replied.

In reply to Punk's tweet, Thorne joked around that the crowd support would be enough to afford someone like Punk, if he really wanted to step into the wrestling ring again.

However, it now looks like it will never happen again as CM Punk does appear to have made up his mind. Also, Punk never did show up at the show for AIW, which went as scheduled.

John Thorne took to his Twitter yet again to let fans know that Punk did not come out to face Samoa Joe face-to-face.

"@CMPunk never came and picked up his envelope from @aiwrestling on Saturday," he tweeted.

CM Punk is all geared up to debut for the Ultimate Fighting Championship later this year and he has been training incessantly for his fight. One of the many issues that forced him to leave WWE was that the company wanted him to perform while injured. The World Wrestling Entertainment on the other hand, never officially closed the door on CM Punk return to the four-sided ring.
