'Divergent: Allegiant' Stars Theo James And Shailene Woodley Talk About Filming First Sex Scene In Franchise; Say Its 'Extremely Awkward' To Be 'Completely Naked'

Theo James and Shailene Woodley and may be excited for the premiere of the highly anticipated "Divergent: Allegiant Part 1" movie, but they are not too keen on watching themselves share passionate scenes on film.

Theo James revealed that he had to rely on alcohol just to get through his first sex scene with Shailene Woodley, which happened during the second movie, "Insurgent." He shared that it was extremely awkward to be completely naked in front of her.

"Sometimes booze helps if it's really hard-core," he told E! News.

"With this, it's OK, because at the end of the day it's going to be PG-13. Sometimes the most awkward thing is [when] you're shooting and you're doing something, and then something has to be tweaked, so you can't move, but you're right there. So you're like, 'What's up?' And you're completely naked, covered in sweat."

Theo further revealed that he has seen Shailene mature through the entire duration of shooting the "Divergent" franchise. He even joked about his co-actors "bigger rack" while reportedly making suggestive hand gestures.

On a more serious note, Theo said that his relationship with Shailene has come a long way since they first started filming the first "Divergent" film.

"She has changed a lot, in a good way," he told E! News.

"When I very first met her, I was kind of newbie. She had just come from doing 'Spectacular Now.' I feel like she has really grown into a woman since then, and it's not actually that long of a period of time. It's a couple of years, even less."

"Divergent: Allegiant Part 1" is set to premiere in the US on March 18, 2016. Part 2 will reportedly hit theatres on March 24, 2017.
