As anticipated, Conor McGregor had something to say about the strange situation surrounding Jose Aldo and an out-of-competition drug test, but his competitor at UFC 189 shot back, too.

Conor McGregor recently revealed that he constantly annoyed Jose Aldo simply to infuriate the champ before the lock horns in the Octagon - but then it wouldn't be year's biggest event without a little bit of mind games and controversy.

Without any prior warning the Nevada State Athletic Commission shows up at a fighter's home or gym to get blood or urine sample to then be tested at a WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) lab for illegal substances or performance enhancing drugs.

This is done as part of the pre-fight testing procedures, FOX Sports noted.

A testing agent named Ben Mosier made an appearance at Jose Aldo's gym to collect a urine specimen. Aldo's coach and manager Andre Pederneiras called the Brazilian MMA commission (CABMMA) to check if they were aware about the test being conducted.

Apparently, the test was only authorized by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, thus the Brazilian commission did not need to be informed about the agent Ben Mosier would be in Brazil to collect the sample. However, the entire situation turned volatile as soon as Pederneiras raised the red flag.

CABMMA officials arrived and reportedly accepted that Mosier was indeed working on behalf of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, however when he came to Brazil he had not applied for a work visa, so basically he was not allowed to participate in any job duties while in the country.

Mosier was ultimately fined by the Brazilian government and informed that he had eight days to leave the country or risk deportation.

The sample collected by Mosier was then discarded, according to reports.

CABMMA then took over informing Aldo that he would be tested within 24 hours later. Although Mosier was threatened with deportation, CABMMA would allow him to be present to observe the test being conducted.

Aldo eventually gave a urine sample on Friday to an authorized by WADA tester, according to a report from MMA Fighting.

It is unknown whether there was a secret attempt to hide information after the tester showed up unannounced on Thursday, but Conor McGregor and his coach were not surprised by the incident.

"I was random tested on May 23rd. Blood AND Urine.

@josealdojunior you little weasel. You and your weasel coach. #AndNew," Aldo's opponent McGregor tweeted.

Even John Kavanagh took to his Twitter to comment on the antics that took place.

According to McGregor, he was tested with blood and urine taken on May 23, however the test conducted in Brazil only took Aldo's urine.

"That's normal. We reached a point in this sport that not only me, but every fighter has to go through this," Aldo told Combate on Thursday.

"This is my first time in Brazil. I think the Brazilian commission should be the one handling this, for the fact that I live here. But that's not an issue. It's nothing for me. Fight, pee, it's the same thing to me," he added.

While McGregor in the past has stated that he believes Aldo used performance-enhancing drugs, noting that it might be "Brazilian culture," Aldo came back saying that he believes McGregor is using some sort of PEDs to make 145 pounds.

Undoubtedly, the biggest fight in featherweight history, the UFC has spent more money promoting Aldo vs. McGregor than any other main event ever. That comprises teasers, commercials during the NBA Finals, a five-country World Tour and 10 UFC Embedded episodes leading up to the fight.
