Baeksang Awards Honor South Korean Entertainment Industry

If you watched a few kdramas in the last year and have a favorite series or performer, the Baeksang Awards wants to hear from you.

The Baeksang Arts Awards honors outstanding achievements in the South Korean entertainment industry and you get to help decide who the winners will be. The organization's website now lists some of the television and film nominees for its 49th Baeksang Arts Awards. The first nominees released were for Most Popular Actress and Most Popular Actor in 2013.

Actor nominees include Kang Ji Hwan for "Incarnation of Money," Kwon Sang Woo for "Yawang, " Kim Beom for "That Winter, The Wind Blows," Jo in Sung for "That Winter The Wind Blows, Kim Jae Joong for "Dr. Jin," Lee Min Ho for "Faith: The Great Doctor," Joo Won for "Bridal Mask," Jang Geun Suk for "Love Rain," So Ji Sub for "Ghost," Yoo Seung Hoo and Park Yoo Chun for "I Miss You."

Park Yoo Chun is a favorite to win as he appeared in three dramas last year, all of which were well received.

The actress nominee category includeds Moon Geun Young for her role in "Cheomdamdong Alice," Park Se Young in "Faith: The Great Doctor," Bae Suzy in "Big," Song Hye Kyo in "That Winter The Wind Blows," Han Ji Min in "Rooftop Prince," Yoon Eun Hye in "I Miss You," Choi Kang Kee for "Level 7 Civil Servant," Ha Ji Won for "King Two Hearts," Park Min Young for "Dr. Jin," and Im Yoona in "Love Rain."

The shortlisted favorite is Im Yoona.

Also nominees have been listed for the most popular movie actor and actress.

Popular film actors nominated include Ryu Seung Ryong in "Miracle in Cell 7," Park Shi Hoo in "I'm a Killer," Kim Rae Won in "My Little Hero" and So Ji Sub in "The Company Man."

Popular film actress nomiees include Park Shin Hye in "Miracle in Cell 7," Park Bo Young in "Werewolf Boy," Song Ji Hyo in "New World" and Han Hyo Joo in "Gwanghee: The Man Who Became The King."

Winners will be determined by the number of votes received. Voting ends May 6th. Only two male and female nominees each will be honored at the awards to be held at Kyung Hee University's Peace Hall on May 9th.
