Song Seung Hoon Wants Love To Strike Like Lightning

While the rush of recent celebrity weddings has prompted Song Seung Hoon to think about marriage, he admits that he is still not ready. For a start, he hasn't met the right girl and his dating style may be part of the problem.

He recently compared his dating style to that of Han Tae Sang, the devoted but romantically challenged character he played in the drama "When A Man Loves."

"In all of my past relationships, I always liked the girl first," said Song. "I need to be attracted to her to even ask her out. I never dated anyone I thought I might become attached to over time."

Co-star Lee Yeon Hee, with whom he won a Best Couple Award for their performance in "East of Eden," once said that Song was very handsome but quite shy. That might be one reason he has not yet found his ideal woman.

Dating rumors linked him with Lee, as well as actresses Son Dam Bi, Kim Tae Hee and Song Hye Kyo but most of those rumors were probably prompted by onscreen chemistry.

Without feeling some real-life chemistry he says he can't get enthusiastic about dating.

"When I met my first love, it was like I had been electrocuted," said Song. "Thunder clapped in my ears like in the cartoons. That's what I call destiny. It's not easy for me to date because I had that experience. I want to meet another person who makes me hear thunder."

He admits he is occasionally jealous of his friends and fellow actors who have found the person they want to spend their lives with.

"I do envy them," he said of married actors Kwon Sang Woo and Jang Dong Gun. "But I think marriage is still far off for me. "

While Song is happy for his friend Lee Byung Hun, who recently set a wedding date, he is not sure he is up to the challenges faced by married couples. He worries about being a good husband and father while coping with an actor's demanding schedule. He wonders whether he can make the sacrifices that are required.

"But I'm the sort who believes strongly in fate," said Song. "I believe in letting nature take its course. My time will come."

The doubts he has about playing the part of a devoted husband and father could vanish in instant.

"If I meet a woman that's right, I might marry her tomorrow."
