Fans would get to see Hwang Jung Min on the big screen with Jeon Do Yeon in Netflix's "Kill Bok Soon." The award-winning actor is the latest celebrity added to the star-studded cast of the action thriller movie.

Although his character has not yet been announced, his presence in the upcoming film will surely enthrall fans with his diversity as an actor.

Apart from the "Lost" actress, Hwang Jung Min will be working alongside Sol Kyung Gu, Goo Kyo Hwan and "Taxi Driver" star, Esom.

'Kill Bok Soon' Release Date and What We Know So Far

The upcoming film will join a slew of highly anticipated Korean films, which are set to be released on Netflix in 2022, including "Yacha" and SeohyunYachtLove and Leashes."

According to reports, "Kill Bok Soon" will begin production at the end of 2021 and aim to debut sometime in 2022.

The forthcoming action thriller movie is helmed by "The Bad Guys: The World of Bad Guys" director Byeon Byun and will be produced under Seed Films.

In "Kill Bok Soon," Jeon Do Yeon will transform into the mysterious killer, leaving fans in awe of her combat skills.

Interestingly, this is said to be her first action movie and her first collaboration with the streaming giant.

As for Esom, she will take on the character of Min Hee, showing the viewers her chemistry as siblings with Seol Kyung Gu.

Hwang Jung Min's Mega Hit Movie' Hostage: Missing Celebrity'

The 51-year-old star recently made waves after starring in the blockbuster film "Hostage: Missing Celebrity."

Hwang Joon Min took on the role of an A-list celebrity named Jeong Min, who was abducted and attempted to escape a group of unidentified men.

"Hostage: Missing Celebrity is directed and written by Pil Gam Seong and was based on the Chinese movie "Saving Mr. Wu," which surpassed over 1.2 million moviegoers in less than three weeks since it aired.

At the time, Hwang Jung Min's movie was head to head with "Escape from Mogadishu" starring Jo In Sung, which also raked millions during the premiere.

In an interview ahead of the film's release date, the renowned actor spoke about his experience filming the movie.

He shared that the action crime film delivered an unconventional genre that would stimulate the audience's curiosity.

With the majority of the movie revolving around him being held captive, Hwang Jung Min mentioned that the kidnapping scene setting was "fun."

"I kept running to make good scenes. They (the hostage-taker) couldn't follow me because I was running fast. I ran to death and kept shooting the same scene because there was a gap between us, so we couldn't get it in one angle," he explained as he spoke about the challenges he encountered physically.

As for the director, he praised Hwang Jung Min and said that he "was the only actor who could express those emotions of the character within a limited time."

Apart from his upcoming movie, the award-winning star is making a comeback to the small screen with a thriller crime Kdrama, "Suriname," under Netflix.
