American Music Awards 2013: Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake Win Big at AMA (Photo/Video)
Taylor Swift and Justin Timberlake both win big at the American Music Awards 2013. Held at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Nov. 24, 2013, the AMA 2013 also saw artists such as Rihanna, One Direction and Ariana Grande nabbing top honors at the music event.
Swift earned garnered the top honors at the AMA 2013 as she brought home the much-coveted “Artist of the Year” award. Made possible by her voting fans, Swift has outnumbered fellow nominees including Macklemore & Lewis, Rihanna, Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake.
Addressing her fans in her acceptance speech, Swift noted that they made her lucky year “13” more magical than it already is by giving her a wonderful year in 2013.
"My lucky number is 13, and so far you guys have made 2013 the most magical year so far," Swift said in her acceptance speech, according to CBS News. "I'm 23 and I have no idea what's going to happen to me...I love you so much. It's unbelievable."
The “Everything Has Changed” singer who stunned in a gold, short dress was also awarded “Favorite Country Album” honor for her hit album “Red.”
"I cannot believe what you've done in the last year. This album came out almost exactly a year ago and the fact that 6 million of you went out and bought it is crazy,” Swift noted as she thanked her fans for their support.
She also thanked her devoted fans as she received another award – . favorite female artist honors
The “Fearless” singer added, “Thank you, you are everything to me. I really appreciate this."
The “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” singer shared the top honors with singer/actor, Justin Timberlake. Jessica Biel’s husband was presented by Swift herself with the favorite pop/rock male award.
Timberlake thanked his fans for taking their time and supported him for the coveted award.
"These are voted on by the fans – everyone who took to their Twitter…and got busy, this means so much to me, thank you," the singer and “Social Network” star said, according to CBS News.
Timberlake brought home two more awards - - favorite soul/R&B male artist and favorite soul/R&B album.
