This winter, he returns as a casino mogul-hunting detective who is determined to put an end to the mystery of an unsolved murder in the forthcoming Disney+ series "Big Bet."

Son Seok Koo Becomes Arduous Detective In 'Big Bet'


The photos of Son Seok Koo in his new acting role in Disney+'s "Big Bet" have finally been released!

From being a lone wolf in "My Liberation Notes" and an iconic villain in the film "The Roundup," this time, Son Seok Koo becomes a diligent detective who will put an end to an unsolved murder.

On November 28, Disney+ unveiled the photo stills of Son Seok Koo for "Big Bet," where he portrays the role of Oh Seung Hoon, the first South Korean detective dispatched to the Philippines.

"Big Bet" is a crime action series that tells the story of a casino mogul who makes his final bet at the brink of his life when he gets involved in a heinous murder. Choi Min Sik and Lee Dong Hwi are also part of the main ensemble of the drama.

In the newly released stills, Son Seok Koo radiates a fatally strong charm as a detective. Although he's filled with perseverance, the confusion in his face is easily readable as he makes adjustments adapting to an unfamiliar environment.

Son Seok Koo is expected to show his various sides as an actor as he takes on a new challenge, and effectively portray a sharp police officer who digs into the truth of a cold murder case.

His active participation in the script writing process is also a huge factor that amplifies fans' expectations. "Big Bet" is scheduled to air on December 21 on Disney+!

Son Seok Koo's 'Dream,' More Upcoming Works

Besides "Big Bet," Son Seok Koo has a slew of multiple projects in his sleeves that fans should look forward to! Son Seok Koo will work together with Choi Woo Shik and Lee Hee Joon in the upcoming Netflix series "Murder DIEary."

It tells the story of an ordinary man who accidentally begins a serial murder and a detective who hunts him down to punish him.

He will also make a special cameo appearance in IU and Park Seo Joon's melodrama "Dream," which deals with the former national athlete who coaches the homeless for the homeless baseball cup. Both of the works are expected to air sometime in the early half of 2023.
