Rowoon Gives Glimpse of His Return to Historical-Romance Genre in 'The Matchmakers'

KBS gave more sneak peek of the cast of its forthcoming series "The Matchmakers," by releasing new character stills.

The rom-com series will feature the predicament of single men and women navigating the field of matchmaking in the Joseon era. In this new drama, Rowoon is meeting the viewers again wearing colorful and elegant types of hanbok. 

Rowoon is set to portray the character of Shim Jeong Woo, the heartthrob and genius bachelor in the city. To help single individuals in their town, he joins forces with Jung Soon Duk, a widow who is living a double life. 

Diving into the actor's new role, Shim Jeong Woo is an old-fashioned man who has a high level of stubbornness yet has a strong appeal to many for his captivating visuals.

The broadcasting company dropped new snaps of the actor, showcasing his transformation as a scholar and matchmaker in the drama. 

Shim Jeong Woo illuminates the alpha male vibe. He exhibits his sharp intellect and straightforward persona after acing the civil examination, outshining other scholars and establishing himself as a character that the viewers will admire.

In the next photo, Jeong Woo transformed into a dashing groom while clad in brilliant matrimonial robes. Despite his glowing appearance, it is contrasted by his solemn expression, revealing his discomfort in the situation.

Aside from the stills, the production team also excites the viewers with Rowoon's character transformation and performance in "The Matchmakers."

Catch Rowoon in His Back-to-Back K-Dramas

"The Matchmakers" is slated to premiere beginning October 30 on KBS at 9:45 p.m. (KST) and will occupy the Monday-Tuesday slots.

While waiting for his new work, catch Rowoon first in his ongoing trending K-drama "Destined With You," where he plays the charismatic lawyer Jang Shin Yu. The series is already four episodes away from its conclusion. 

The fantasy-romance series airs every Wednesday and Thursday on JTBC and Netflix.
