THIS ‘DP’ Scene-Stealer Lands His First Lead Role in ‘Weak Hero Class 2’ With Park Ji Hoon, Ryeoun

After his remarkable performance in "D.P." season 2, rookie actor Bae Nara will have his first-ever lead role through the upcoming K-drama "Weak Hero Class 2."

Best known for his role as a deserter named Jang Seong Min, who lives as performer "Nina," the 32-year-old actor is set to portray an exciting character in the forthcoming series.

Bae Nara Joins Park Ji Hoon, Ryeoun in 'Weak Hero Class 2'

In an exclusive report cited by Star News, it was confirmed that Bae Nara will appear in the new season of "Weak Hero Class."

He will officially join "Twinkling Watermelon" star Ryeoun and Park Ji Hoon, who also appeared in the first season of the show.

As for Bae Nara, this will be his first ever lead role after making his debut in "D.P." season 2 as a supporting actor.

Based on the popular Naver webtoon, the show depicts the story of a model student who is deemed weak by his classmates but uses his wits and psychology to fight violence.

It can be recalled that "Weak Hero Class 1" garnered favorable reviews and even bagged various awards, such as Best OTT Original at the Asia Contents Awards and Global OTT Awards 2023, as well as Best New Actor for Park Ji Hoon and Whynot Award for Choi Hyun Wook at the Blue Dragon Series Awards 2023.

Lastly, Park Ji Hoon also bagged the same title for his role in "Weak Hero Class 1" at the Korea Drama Awards 2023.

As for Bae Nara joining the upcoming season, this creates high expectations from the viewers, who are thrilled to see the trio's on-screen chemistry as they portray their respective characters.

Who is Bae Nara?

As mentioned, viewers might recognize him as Nina in "D.P." season 2, who lives as a factory worker by day and a drag performer at night.

At the height of the K-drama, viewers lauded Bae Nara's exceptional acting as he played a challenging role.

In an interview obtained by a news outlet, he said that he never thought that he would be able to join the Netflix series.

"I thought it was a different world rather than a dream," he said.

In addition to this, Bae Nara also acknowledges his previous work for being able to flawlessly portray the role of Nina.

"I think the biggest factor in being able to film 'DP' season 2 is that I played various roles on stage," he added.

Bae Nara might be a rookie on-screen actor, but he did make a name for himself as a theater actor. Some of his remarkable works include "Phantom Singer 3," "The Master," and the musical "Kinky Boots," where he also played a drag queen named Angel.
