‘DP’ Season 2 Cast Bae Nara Reveals Getting Emotional After Watching His Episode

Bae Nara shares the remarkable moments he had filming "D.P." season 2 and what it's like to see himself on screen. 

The rookie actor gained massive attention after portraying the role of Jang Seong Min, a.k.a. Nina, who escapes the military after experiencing physical abuse from his superiors. 

In "D.P." season 2, his character was introduced as a theater and film major who wanted to portray a female role in an upcoming play. However, he was bullied by his peers, which promoted him to enter the military. 

Unfortunately, he had the same fate, and was looked down on for being queer. Due to this,  Jang Seong Min couldnt take it anymore and decided to leave the base, making him one of the deserters. 

This is where the D.P. team goes after him.

Bae Nara Says Being in 'D.P.' Season 2 is a 'Dream' Come True

In an interview with Newsen, Bae Nara recalled his experience before joining the series.

The rookie actor never thought that he would be auditioning for a Netflix series.

"I thought it was a different world rather than a dream," he said, and he asked himself, "'I'm auditioning for 'D.P.'" At the same time, he is determined to land the role and "create a good experience" where he could test his capabilities as an actor.

Although he is not an amateur when it comes to acting, Bae Nara said that one of his career highlights is joining the Netflix series.

Interestingly, his background as a musical actor helped him deliver the character flawlessly.

"I think the biggest factor in being able to film 'DP' season 2 is that I played various roles on stage," he said. 

For those who don't know, Bae Nara made his debut as a theater actor. Among his previous work is playing a drag queen named Angel in the musical "Kinky Boots."

Bae Nara Cried After Watching His Episode in 'D.P.' Season 2

The rookie actor also got honest and shared his reaction after watching the whole season of the Netflix series. 

According to him, as soon as "D.P." season 2 premiered, he binge-watched it and could not help but feel emotional with his character, Jang Seong Min, especially when he recalled his painful past and how he ended up being a deserter.

In the K-drama, Jang Seong Min ended up taking his own life after seeing that he had nowhere to escape his hellish life. Ahn Joon Ho and Han Hyo Yeol, played by Jung Hae In and Goo Kyo Hwan, felt like they were too late to save Seong Min.
