Interestingly, some stars opted to ditch bank loans and purchase their houses or buildings in cold, hard cash.
From award-winning stars to K-drama royalties, here are three Korean actors and actresses who purchased their house in cash.
Jun Ji Hyun
There's no wonder Jun Ji Hyun managed to purchase a multibillion property, which she bought in cash.
For one, she is among the highest-paid K-drama actresses, and second, top-tier brands love her to represent their companies.
In 2022, business insiders shared that Jun Ji Hyun acquired a commercial building in Seoul for a whopping 50.5 billion KRW.
Per the report, the actress paid 22.5 million KRW in cash, while the remaining balance of 28 million KRW was through Kookmin Bank for a security loan.
Jun Ji Hyun's property is home to commercial establishments such as LG Electronics.
Prior to this, the actress bought a luxurious apartment home in Acro Seoul Forest in September 2022, which she fully paid in cash for 13 billion KRW, as cited by a news portal.
Son Ye Jin
One of the most successful K-drama actresses, Son Ye Jin, is well loved by fans because of her amazing beauty, not to mention her outstanding acting skills.
Due to this, she has starred in various hit K-dramas and movies such as "Something in the Rain," "The Pirates," and, of course, the rom-com series that brought the BinJin craze, "Crash Landing on You."

Interestingly, the top star is spending her money wisely by investing in land properties.
In 2019, at the height of her K-drama with Hyun Bin, Son Ye Jin purchased a 16 billion KRW building in Seoul.
According to a media outlet, the actress' new property is a commercial building located in the Sinsa-dong neighborhood of Gangnam.
Son Ye Jin reportedly paid 4.4 billion KRW in cash and received a loan of 11.6 billion KRW. She then paid off the remaining mortgage in September 2020.
Han So Hee
The "My Name" star is reaping the rewards of her success after acquiring a luxurious villa apartment in the affluent neighborhood of Achiwul Village.
Home to fellow celebrities like Hyun Bin, Girls' Generation's Taeyeon, and Ryu Jun Yeol, Han So Hee reportedly purchased it in cash for 21.5 billion KRW in the summer of 2021.
Yoo Hae Jin
The latest star to purchase a land property in 2023 is none other than Yoo Hae Jin.
The "Confidential Assignment" star bought a single detached house in Seongbuk-dong, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, for 4.5 billion won.
The actor's new home is located in an affluent neighborhood known to be the home of the rich and famous.
Yoo He Jin reportedly bought the billion won property in cash and without collateral.
