‘The Killing Vote’ Episode 12: Is Park Sung Woo Still Alive?
"The Killing Vote" wraps up the season with a surprising twist as Park Sung Woong, Lim Ji Yeon, and Park Hae Jin face the final voting.
Based on the webtoon of the same name, the 12-episode K-drama focuses on a mysterious figure whom the public called Gaetal.
He acts as a vigilante who punishes criminals who get away with the punishment of the law.
In the story, the public gets to participate through a mass voting system where Gaetal follows the majority of votes on whether the target must receive the punishment or not.
Headlined by Lim Ji Yeon, she takes on the role of Joo Hyun of the cybercrime investigation unit.
She joins forces with Kim Moo Chan, the head of the investigation holding the fetal cases, played by Park Hae Jin.
Lastly, "The Killing Vote" cast includes Park Sung Woong as the lead star. Taking on the role of Professor Kwon Seok Joo, he is the grieving father who lost his daughter to a serial killer.
'The Killing Vote' Viewership
After 12 amazing episodes, the webtoon-based K-drama bids goodbye with an unforgettable story.
In a report, Nielsen Korea recorded an average nationwide rating of 3.1 percent in "The Killing Vote," episode 12.
It is a slight decrease from its previous episode of 3.3 percent.
Despite the ratings, "The Killing Vote" gained huge interest on social media due to its unique premise.
While viewers are looking forward to a sequel, officials have yet to confirm if "The Killing Vote" season 2 will get a green light.
'The Killing Vote' Episode 12 Recap
The mystery crime K-drama showcases a subtle hint that Gaetal didn't stop with his mission, and as for Park Seok Joo's status, the story indicates that he is still alive but missing.
"The Killing Vote" episode 12 began featuring Joo Hyun's background.
At the time, she is grieving for the loss of her parents, who died in a car accident after a woman who was under the influence of alcohol accidentally killed her.
Despite her plea and the evidence supporting her claims, no one believed her.
The scene also featured her crossing paths with Kim Moo Chan, who was with the police force at the time.
On the other hand, her heartbreaking past led her to become a cop, who promised her to be one of the best to prevent victims like her.
Meanwhile, Kim Moo Chan is negotiating with Kwon Seok Joo, who is about to proceed with the killing vote.
Thankfully, the majority of the participants voted no, which canceled the killing vote. All this is thanks to Kim Ji Hoon, who exposed what made Kwon Seok Joo create the idea of the killing vote.

However, although the public voted against the last vote, Kim Moo Chan finds Kwon Seok Joo hanging.
Thankfully, he was able to save his life.
Unfortunately, things didn't go well with Kim Ji Hoon.
As he was about to surrender, a group of bounty hunters abducted him and Joo Min.
Joo Hyun thought that she arrived right in time, but one of the bounty hunters hit Ji Hyun in the head, causing his death.
Before passing, he gave Joo Hyun a flash drive that contained details about the killing vote.
Upon learning of Ji Hyun's passing, Kwon Seok Joo regretted his decision to start the killing vote.
For him, the pain of feeling that he lost a loved one twice is unbearable.
As Kwon Seok Joo was about to make things right, one of the Gaetals tried to kill him by hostaging Joo Hyun.
Joo Hyun was able to free himself, but the revengeful Gaetal threw himself and Seok Joo in the ocean.
At this point, the police are unaware of his location or whether he is still alive or dead.
In the last scene, Kim Moo Chan was spotted wearing Gaetal's mask in public.
Is this a hint that he will be the next Gaetal and that the killing vote will continue?
