4 Top Female Idols Confirmed To Make Acting Return in 2024: IU, Suzy, More
Four of the hottest female idols are returning to the screen. From "Korea's national treasure" IU to the "nation's first love" Suzy, these are the celebrities to anticipate this 2024!
IU (Lee Ji Eun)
After her movie "Broker," which received a standing ovation at Cannes Film Festival, IU is set to charm international viewers with her upcoming Netflix series "When Life Gives You Tangerines."
IU plays the role of Ae Soon, who dreams of becoming a poet although she fails to attend school. She has a bold and fierce aura, who doesn't hide her emotions.
Opposite her is K-heartthrob Park Bo Gum, who will portray the character of Gwan Sik, a genius and quiet man. Romance is his least priority, but after meeting Ae Soon, everything changes in his life, and ready to pour his all into loving her.
IU (Lee Ji Eun) is expected to meet the audience sometime this year.
Lee Hyeri
Girls' Day's Hyeri is already starting the year with much on her plate after she made headlines by receiving offers to participate in different projects.
The idol-actress is in Thailand, filming her upcoming hard-boiled action movie "Night Heat," formerly known as "Tropical Night." She will work with Woo Do Hwan, Jang Dong Gun, Park Sung Hoon, and Kim Min Seok in this project.
Aside from this, the actress will lead the campus-themed film "Victory," where she will transform into a cheer dancer.
Lastly, Hyeri is ready to challenge herself as she is currently considering appearing in the GL series "Friendly Competition."
Meawhile, "Night Heat" is scheduled to hit the big screen in the second half of 2024.
Kim Jisoo
BLACKPINK Jisoo will finally reunite with her fans as she returns to acting this year. After her debut series "Snowdrop," the idol-actress will also mark her movie debut through "Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint."
Jisoo is confirmed to play the role of Lee Ji Hye, a lady who overcomes numerous crises together with Yoo Joong Hyuk (Lee Min Ho) through her great superpower.
The stellar cast already had their first table reading and immediately began filming as they are preparing for the movie's release this 2024.
Bae Suzy
Suzy will grace the small screen with another exciting project!
Adding to the good news is that she is expected to reunite with "Uncontrollably Fond" co-star Kim Woo Bin in her next series.
The "Doona!" actress will lead the romance-fantasy drama "All Wishes Come True," which tells the story of an overly emotional genie trapped inside a lamp, and the woman who helps him escape.
Bae Suzy takes the role of Ga Young, a human who has no emotion. Kim Woo Bin, on the other hand, will play the character of the genie.
The series is said to have 12 episodes and is tentatively for release this year. The confirmed date of debut is still in discussion.
