Lee Jae Wook and aespa Karina broke the internet after confirming that they have already parted ways. The actor's agency immediately addressed the news through an official statement.

Confirmed: Lee Jae Wook, aespa Karina Break Up

On April 2, it was confirmed that Lee Jae Wook and aespa Karina have called it quits after five weeks of relationship.

In response to the news, the actor's agency C-Jes released a statement regarding the breakup.

"Lee Jae Wook decided on the breakup in order to focus on the project he is currently filming. The two decided to remain colleagues who support each other."

The company added:

"They will each greet fans through good projects from their respective positions going forward. Please show lots of warm interest and support."

aespa Karina's agency, SM Entertainment, also confirmed the split.

To recall, in earlier February, Lee Jae Wook and aespa Karina confirmed their relationship, and the famous K-media outlet Dispatch released some paparazzi photos of the now ex-couple's secret dates.

Lee Jae Wook is currently meeting the viewers through the mystery series "The Impossible Heir," alongside Lee Jun Young and Hong Su Zu.

Apart from this, the "Alchemy of Souls" actor is already booked with a new project. The 25-year-old star will headline the historical-romance drama "Hong Rang."

Lee Jae Wook mentioned in his interview with W Korea that the cast and crew film four to five days a week. Despite working on "Alchemy of Souls" before, which was a fantasy-historical drama, it is his first time to act in an authentic historical series through "Hong Rang."

In preparation, he tries to speak in a low voice as he wants to deliver his lines in a more powerful and clearer way.

Joining him in the drama are Jo Bo Ah, Jung Ga Ram, Uhm Ji Won, Park Byung Eun, and Kim Jae Wook. "Hong Rang" is expected to air on Netflix sometime this 2024.

Apart from acting, Lee Jae Wook is also busy doing magazine pictorials, interviews, brand endorsements, and even attending fashion events in and outside Korea.
