Forbes released the 2024 Most Powerful Korean Celebrities, with Cha Eun Woo, "Single's Inferno's" DEX, and more K-drama stars entering the list.

BLACKPINK Tops Most Powerful Korean Celebrities 2024

Started in 2009, the American publication chose the 40 most influential celebrities in South Korea, selecting individuals in the fields of sports, music, and entertainment.

The selection is based on individuals' accomplishments in their industry as well as their media presence and social media popularity.

For this year's ranking, K-Pop group BLACKPINK continues their global reign in the music scene, as Forbes named them the Most Powerful Korean Celebrities 2024.

Coming in second is soccer superstar Son Heung Min, who proudly represents South Korea on the global map.

Making it to third place is the fourth-generation girl group NewJeans, who created a huge sensation in the international scene with their hit songs "Super Shy" and "OMG."

Cha Eun Woo, Dex, More Enter Most Powerful Korean Celebrities 2024

While the majority of the top 10 are in the fields of sports and music, Cha Eun Woo secured 11th place in Forbes' Most Powerful Korean Celebrities 2024.

He made his debut in 2016 as part of the five-member boy group Astro and eventually made a name for himself in acting, headlining hit K-dramas like "My ID Is Gangnam Beauty," "True Beauty," "Island," and the webtoon-based series "A Good Day to Be a Dog."

Interestingly, viewers get to see Cha Eun Woo return to K-drama with the upcoming thriller mystery series "Wonderful World" with Kim Nam Joo, Im Se Mi, and Kim Kang Woo.

Joining the idol singer is DEX, who is best known for his appearance in Netflix reality dating show "Single's Inferno" Season 2. The former Special Forces UDT, whose real name is Kim Jin Young, is a YouTuber and now hosts various TV shows.

After his reality star stint in the Netflix show, DEX became one of the regular members of "Zombieverse," "The Zone: Survival Mission" Season 3, and also joined as one of the new panelists of "Single's Inferno" Season 3.

Other than hosting, he is also expected to showcase his talent after being selected to play the main character in the mystery horror K-drama "Tarot" with Park Ha Sun and the webtoon-based series "Child Shopping" with Yeom Jung Ah and Won Jin Ah.

Next to DEX in the top 40 of Forbes' Most Powerful Korean Celebrities 2024 is Ahn Eun Jin, with the actress landing in 15th place.

She is best known for her quirky role in "Hospital Playlist" but was able to captivate the viewers with her versatility as she stars in "The One and Only," "The Good Bad Mother," and the megahit series "My Dearest," where she is nominated as Best Actress at the Baeksang Arts Awards 2024.

Adding to the list is Lee Junho, in 20th place.

Debuting in 2008 through the boy group 2PM, he is now active as an actor, winning various recognitions such as the Best Male Actor Award at the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards 2022 and Actor of the Year at the Asia Artist Awards 2022.

Lee Jun Ho cemented his name as an actor by headlining "The Red Sleeves" and "King the Land."

In addition to these, national MC Yoo Jae Suk, Uhm Jung Hwa, Girls' Generation's Yoona, Son Seok Koo, Lee Seung Gi, Namgoong Min, IU, Park Eun Bin, Lim Ji Yeon, Lee Se Young, Go Yun Jung, and Shin Hye Sun are among the actors and actresses who entered the top 40 rankings.
