The issue arose in response to recent news reports that the actor had set up a one-person corporation for the wrong financial reasons. Given the actor's fame and recent return to acting, it was inevitable that the allegations against him would gain widespread attention, prompting his talent manager to offer a formal response to the situation.

In a statement released through Fantagio, the actor's agency attempted to explain the circumstances of the corporation and the actor's current contract status. The agency explained their stance on the issue while denying any deliberate wrongdoing.

Fantagio stated, "Hello. This is Fantagio, the agency representing actor Kim Seon Ho. We would like to issue our official position regarding the reports published today concerning Kim Seon Ho's operation of a one-person corporation."

The agency further elaborated on Kim's professional arrangements and tax compliance. Fantagio said, "Kim Seon Ho is currently active under an exclusive contract signed in his personal name with Fantagio, and he is faithfully complying with all legal and tax-related procedures in relation to his current contractual relationship and activities."

Addressing the core allegation, Fantagio emphasized that the corporation was not created to avoid taxes. The agency explained, "The former one-person corporation mentioned in the reports was established for theater production and theater-related activities, and was absolutely not created for the purpose of intentional tax reduction or tax evasion."

Fantagio also noted that the corporation has been inactive and is now being dissolved. The agency added, "After transferring to Fantagio, actual business activities have not taken place for approximately a year, and the company is currently in the process of closure in accordance with relevant laws and procedures." The statement concluded with the agency stressing its intent to prevent misunderstandings, according to Koreaboo.

The allegations originated from a report published on Feb. 1, 2026, which claimed that Kim established the corporation in January 2024 at his home address in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The report alleged that Kim served as CEO, while his parents were listed as internal director and auditor, according to Ten Asia.

The same outlet analyzed that the company appeared to function as a vehicle for income splitting and asset management rather than active business operations. It further alleged that wages paid to Kim's parents were returned and that corporate funds were used for personal expenses, raising suspicions of tax evasion and fund misuse.

As of now, Kim Seon Ho and his agency maintain that the accusations are unfounded and that all actions were lawful and transparent.
