Park Jihoon is receiving praise for his ever more convincing acting skills after a scene from Kitchen Soldier went viral online, with fans noting his hyper-realistic portrayal of a character waking up from a dream.

According to Pannchoa, the moment which shows the character suddenly jolting awake in a disoriented state, quickly gained traction on online communities. Viewers said his use of subtle body movement and timing made the performance feel natural and unforced.
"How is he even good at using his body?" one viewer commented, adding that the scene closely resembled real-life behavior. Others echoed similar reactions, with fans describing the performance as, "He's good. He looks so natural."

Some commenters also called for more acting-focused projects for the former Wanna One member, noting that his screen presence stands out even in short, everyday-style scenes.
Besides the renewed focus on his acting, Park's recent behind-the-scenes activities are also drawing attention. Star News reported that Park Ji-hoon has been busy preparing for the TVING original project Becoming the Legend of the Cook, for which he is undergoing strenuous training to portray a military cook.
In a video released on June 10 by his agency YY Entertainment, Park is seen learning military etiquette, including salutes and uniform presentation, as well as practicing cooking techniques such as knife work and wok handling.
The publication reported that Park also lightheartedly described his transformation for the role, joking about becoming a "potato boy" after cutting his hair short to match his character Kang Sung-jae. The actor also demonstrated enthusiasm during training, confidently discussing military units and role preparation on camera.
The report noted that Becoming the Legend of the Cook has been performing strongly, topping weekly paid subscriber rankings on TVING for three consecutive weeks and surpassing 121.26 million cumulative digital views in its first week of release.
