A representative from KBS stated, "We casted Seo Ji Hye because we thought her bright and pure charm would be well-suited for the love story. For a while, KBS's daily dramas focused on young, rookie actors to try out new concepts, but with 'I Will Pick You Stars and the Moon,' the characters are over the age of 30 to satisfy a variety of audiences."
