Star Trek 3 Movie 2016: The Sequel Poised To Meet Fans’ Expectations; Will George Takei Return In This Upcoming Film?
Star Trek Movie set for release in 2016 has been gaining a lot of negative impressions, perhaps because fans have been very much disappointed with the prior installments of this franchise. However, its new director Roberto Orci promises that the upcoming sequel will be closer to the original series.
And speaking of original series, George Takei who played the part of Hikaru Sulu in the TV series, stated that he is more than eager to participate the new Star Trek movie.
"All they have to do is ask me! I'm more than eager. As you know, Leonard Nimoy did two of the rebooted films with J.J. Abrams, and they're preparing another one because in two years, Star Trek's going to be 50 years old...so they'll be coming out with another major feature film with a rebooted cast," he shared.
Penned by JD Payne, Patrick McKay, and Orci himself, the entire team of Star Trek 3 is proving that everything is shaping up. In fact, the first draft is already complete!
With this, Orci shared "p & m & I wrote, "fade out" yesterday on first draft. things are moving."
Months ago, Orci claimed that the third installment of the rebooted series will be "closer to the original series than you have ever seen". He further adds that the adventure is going to be in deep space.
Online site, Blastr, recalls the statements made by one of its writers J.D. Pane during the LDS Film Festival, which somehow revealed a pinch of their target plot:
"We're trying to set up a kind of situation where you really could - and not in just an 'everything's relative' sort of moral relativism - you could be a good person of any creed or philosophical background and come down on both sides of how you should respond to this opportunity that the crew has.... that also has some pitfalls to it. Where you could argue very, very, very compellingly that 'this' is what you should do, and if you're advocating 'this' then it's actually evil.It's sort of the Adam and Eve thing, where should we eat the fruit or not eat the fruit? Well, there are some very compelling reasons why they should and why they shouldn't. So, similar kinds of things here that really give the whole movie and opportunity to sort of play with that, and have people come down on different sides and wrestle with it; then come to an ending where you can walk out and say, 'You know, I don't know what I would do."
Aside from Payne's proposed conflict, slight hints about the future antagonists of the sequel were also shared by Star Trek Into Darkness co-screenwriter and producer Damon Lindelof during his past interview with HeyUGuys!:
"You can never see enough Klingons, and I think in this film (Into Darkness) we've given the audience a little taste, but there's also a promise that there's a larger conflict on the horizon, and that would be fun to see."
Klingons are extraterrestrial humanoid warrior species primarily known for prideful callousness and brutality. With this, there's a high probability that the villains of Star Trek 3 will be classic for Trekkies of all ages.
