The director, Doug Liman, took his art to another level when he accepted the effects-heavy movie. He was successful in his decision to mix practical and digital effects. The scenes, particularly the battle sequences, were so real that viewers were not able to know where the green screen begins.
It's not every day that you will see "The Young Victoria" star clad in full-battle gear. Truth is that she was great at playing the role of Rita Vrataski, a badass soldier. She's not in the "Edge of Tomorrow" full movie to have a relationship with Cruise; her character is so important in the plot that you will not focus your attention in the difficult relationship she developed with Cruise. Yes, you can say she has stolen the show.
It's a hard-action movie as you can see it but it is also a funny one. You'll be surprised to seeing yourself laughing from start to end. Infusing humor in "Edge of Tomorrow" is a great way to somehow give viewers a break from action scenes.
