After a controversial breakup and a more controversial song about the alleged breakup, Ed Sheeran and Ellie Goulding will reportedly be meeting each other again for the 2014 Royal Variety Performance at the London Palladium in less than two weeks.

Will things get awkward between the two exes especially after reports of the 'Burn' singer finally getting fed up of her association with Sheeran's song, 'Don't?'

Just last week, Goulding allegedly decided to lawyer up after getting too much negative attention from the track. The media, aided by fans of the 'Lego House' hitmaker, assumed that she was the cheating ex being talked about in the song. She allegedly cheated on Sheeran with his One Direction close mate, Niall Horan.

Sheeran didn't deny or admit anything, as well, aside from saying that the story behind the song was "100% true." Goulding was further put under fire when the British acoustic star talked about moving on from his unfaithful ex and the friend who betrayed him.

That didn't placate Goulding, however. According to Top40, she has sent a warning to Sheeran's camp that she will take legal action should any more articles claiming her association to the song were to be published.

The site quoted a source as saying, "Ed had never denied that Ellie was an inspiration for his work, so this seems a strange response after such a long time. Online there are hundreds of fan and media sites that have gone much further in their descriptions of Ellie."

Whatever the case, Ed Sheeran and Ellie Goulding will still have to perform for British monarchs on November 13. Demi Lovato, Dame Shirley Bassey, Bette Middler as well as comedians Russell Kane and Jack Whitehall will also make an appearance in the annual event. Michael McIntyre will host the event.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton will reportedly be attending the show in place of Queen Elizabeth this year. This will also be their first attendance for the event which started in 1912. The rest of the monarchy attended the event in past years.

How awkward do you think the Royal Variety show will be for Ed Sheeran and Ellie Goulding?
