'The Perfect Guy': Can End Up as Favorite Watch for This Weekend

"The Perfect Guy" has all the ingredients to end up as one of the favorite movies to watch this weekend, reported Entertainment Weekly. The movie is a classic thriller starring Sanaa Lathan who gets involved with a complete stranger, Michael Ealy, and begins to question her relationship. The movie is expected to gross around $15-17 million. "The Perfect Guy" would be the third straight box office No. 1 to star African-Americans in the span of five weeks, after Straight Outta Compton and War Room.

"The Perfect Guy"  is also Sanaa LAthan's first movie as a producer and she does not want it to be called as a 'black' movie. Her character, lobbyist Leah Vaughn, has everything: a fantastic career on the upswing, a house that could be photographed for the cover of Architectural Digest, and a dreamboat boyfriend, Dave (Chestnut), who seems to be equally successful in life, stated BuzzFeed.com.

However, as the plot goes on Leah's boyfriend is yet not ready for a commitment even after few years of dating. She snaps ties with him and meets Ealy's Carter Duncan who is just ready to offer what she has been asking. In the due course of the relationship, she notices a violent streak in him when he beats a guy at the gas station. She breaks off the relationship and goes back to Dave with lots of hiccups and melodrama in the movie.

"The Perfect Guy" showcases the complete melodrama, romantic thriller that has been a screenplay for several other movies in past. The movie is being distributed by Sony Screen Gems that has scored #1 opening with movies based on similar thriller themes like Lakeview Terrace' starring Samuel L. Jackson and Kerry Washington and "No Good Deed 2014" starring Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson.
