SBS, MBC and KBS continue to go head to head with their new Monday-Tuesday programming. Long-running dramas "Six Flying Dragons" and "Glamorous Temptation" dominated primetime ratings with their second episodes, while "Sassy, Go Go" experienced a slight increase.

According to the October 7 Nielsen Korea report, "Six Flying Dragons" recorded 12.4 percent in nationwide viewership. This was an increase of 0.1 percent from its previous ratings.

The period series benefits from the star power of its lead actors and the strength of director Shin Kyung Soo. Shin is credited for the action-packed political drama, "Three Days" and the popular 2011 period series, "The Tree with Deep Roots."

"Six Flying Dragons" will also likely thrive due to its exception screenwriting team, which is comprised of Kim Young Hyun and Park Sang Yeon.

Kim previously wrote the script for iconic period dramas including "Jewel in the Palace."

Park Sang Yeon is credited with writing the seminal novel, "Joint Security Area," which yielded the critically-acclaimed Park Chan Wook film.

Yoo In Ah continues his reign over Korean entertainment, following the success of "Veteran," with his portrayal of Lee Bang Won, the third king of the Joseon Dynasty. Shin Se Kyung, who portrayed So Yi in "Tree with Deep Roots," is Boon Yi in the "Six Flying Dragons."

Ratings for MBC's "Glamorous Temptation" increased 1.2 percent to 9.7 in nationwide viewership. "Glamorous Temptation" features a stellar main cast including Joo Chang Wook and Choi Gang Hee.

However, the series also has some of the strongest teen actors included in its roster, which could explain its appeal to a wider audience.

"Glamorous Temptation" highlights its teen stars including Kim Sae Ron, Nam Joo Hyuk, and Kim Bo Ra.

Meanwhile, KBS's cheerleading drama,  "Sassy, Go Go," experienced a slight increase in viewership, recording 3.2 percent.
