Kdrama Birthdays: Mark Your August Calendar
It's time to start thinking of fun ways to celebrate your favorite kdrama actors who have birthdays in August. Here's a list of those celebrities about to turn one year older.
August 3: Kim Hyung Jun, the youngest member of the boy band SS501 had his first lead role as Kang Min in the KBS drama "My Shining Girl." The 26-year-old received a rising star award for his performance in "Late Blossom."
August 4: As an actor, model and singer Jang Geun Suk does it all. His best known drama roles are band leader Hwang Tae Kyung in "You're Beautiful" with Park Shin Hye,l and Kang Mu Gyul in "Mary Stayed Out All Night," with Moon Geun Young. He also appeared in "Love Rain" with Yoona.
August 5: Kwon Sang Woo became a star when he appeared in the comedy film "My Tutor Friend" and in the drama "Stairway To Heaven." He has a role in the upcoming drama "Medical Top Team."
August 15: Song Ji Hyo is known for her performance as the ballerina Min Hyo Rin in "Princess Hours, playing Lady Ye So Ya in "Jumong" and the queen in the film "A Frozen Flower." She is also a frequent guest on "Running Man."
Also born on August 15 is Ko Joon Hee. The model and actress had supporting roles in the films "Girl Scout" and "Architecture 101." She also appeared in several dramas including "Can You Hear My Heart," The Chaser," and "Queen of Ambition. This year she appeared on the reality show "We Got Married" paired up with Jinwoon of the band 2AM.
August 17: Yoo Seung Hoo, 19, has played Baek Hyun in "Master of Study," and the Jade Emporer in "Arang and the Magistrate." He also starred in the melodrama "Missing You" with Park Yoo Chun and Yoon Eun Hye, before enlisting for active military duty.
August 19: Son Tae Young, who appeared in "Iljimae" and "Two Wives," had a cameo in "Queen of Ambition," and now appears in "You're The Best Lee Soon Shin," shares an August birthday with her husband actor Kwon Sang Woo.
August 29: Bae Yong Joon is considered one of the first kkoniman (flower boy handsome) idols. It was his performance in "Winter Sonata" that helped set the Hallyu wave in motion. The award-winning 40-year-old actor can also be seen in "Dream High."
