Lee Min Ho Wanted To Propose To Kim Yoo Jung
Actor Lee Min Ho has crushed on actress Kim Yoo Jung for a few years. The 22-year-old actor, who appeared in "Rooftop Prince" and "The Moon Embracing The Sun," spoke about his crush on the October 14 broadcast of the MBC program "Radio Star."
When he played the young Prince Yang Myung and she played the young Heo Yeon Woo on "The Moon Embracing The Sun," he joked that he would propose to her when she was twenty. She was 13 at the time and he was 19.
"The Moon Embracing The Sun" was not the first time the actors worked together. In 2010 they both appeared in "Grudge: The Revolt of the Gumiho," playing childhood first loves.
When he was a guest on Yoo Jae Suk and Kim Won Hee's program "Come To Play" in 2012 he talked about the experience of working with her twice and how he felt about her even then.
"In 'Gumiho' we played two people in love," said Lee. "We fooled around at the time a lot. However, that is probably why I started to have feelings about her."
It's not unusual for child actors to have their first love while working on a love story. He had his first kiss scene in that drama and it was with Kim Yoo Jung. When he appeared on the program "Strong Heart" in January 2012, he spoke about that kiss and how nervous he was before filming it. Although Kim Yoo Jung was younger Lee Min Ho she was more relaxed than he was.
"Yoo Jung already had a kiss experience and she led me," said Lee. "She told me about things like camera angles."
He was surprised at how he felt when they reunited in "The Moon Embracing The Sun." In that drama her character was in love with someone else. He was jealous.
"In 'The Moon That Embraces the Sun' I played a role that had an unrequited love with her. That is why she does not look at me at all in the drama. It made me feel empty."
Lee Min Ho doesn't have that much longer to wait until 16-year-old Kim Yoo Jung turns 20 but that does not mean she is waiting for him to propose.
"She has three more years to go before she turns twenty," he said when he appeared on "Radio Star." "But I recently heard that she chose my friend Yoo Seung Ho as her ideal type."
