Microsoft announced at Gamescom 2015 that Xbox One backwards compatibility will be available for all users by November. All new Games with Gold 360 releases will be backward compatible and Gears of War is already available for Preview Program members. Further, the company has added a specific section titled "Backwards Compatibility" on their Xbox Feedback page. This page allows users to vote on games that they want to be added to the list of backwards compatible games.

However, the list does not guarantee that the games will be added in the future. There is a long list of games that will feature Xbox One backwards compatibility including Shadow Complex that was tweeted by Microsoft's Major Nelson, said IGN.com.

One of the latest rumors indicates that the original Doom will be on Xbox One backward compatibility list very soon has been growing. A user on Reddit with handle F0REM4N disclosed he successfully installed "Doom" onto his Xbox One console and also showed a proof as well to support the claim, said Tech Times.

The user also stated that somehow he felt that it was old news but it was not on the official list. He had also not seen it in his downloads before. He found it a little odd considering that Phil Spencer has said it on record that list will not change until the NXOE was public. Another user with handle SYMBIANCE09 commented on F0REM4N's post that he was surprised that the company was adding games to the list still close to the launch. He also expected that the company might make an announcement later.

Another Italian website also leaked another photo suggesting that it had also seen Doom appearing on Xbox One but also pointed out that it might not be available for any preview member, said Tech times
