After School's Uee is considering a part in an upcoming weekend drama, "Golden Rainbow." The role she is up for is Baek Won, the oldest sibling and default mother figure in a blended family of seven orphans. None of the orphans are related but they grow closer and become a family of true siblings under Baek Won's guidance.

If Uee decides to take the role in the family drama, it would be her second weekend series. According to her agency, Pledis Entertainment, it's still just a possibility.

"Uee recently received an offer to join 'Golden Rainbow,' but we are currently assessing it along with other productions," said an agency representative. "It is an excellent production, so we are seriously discussing Uee's participation. But it's not the only offer we are considering. Whether it's a drama or a movie, Uee will definitely return as an actress in the latter half of the year."

One of the considerations that Uee must take into account is her touring schedule.

If she does take on the role of Baek Won, she will not have to appear in the drama right way. The first ten episodes of the show will focus on the struggles of the family when Baek Won is younger. Kim Yoo Jung, who appeared as the young  Han Ga In in "The Moon Embracing The Sun" will play the young Baek Won. Kim Yoo Jung also appeared in the drama "May Queen," also written by the "Golden Rainbow" screenwriter Son Young Mok.

Another actor slated to appear in the drama is Kim Sang Joong, who played Lee Min Ho's revenge-driven adoptive father in "City Hunter" and a corrupt presidential candidate in "The Chaser." Kim Sang Joong will play Uee's stepfather.

Uee debuted as a singer, dancer and rapper with "After School," but soon after that she established herself as an actress in the historical drama Queen Seonduk. In that drama she played the young Mishil. In the comedy "You're Beautiful," she played Jang Geun Suk's annoying wanna-be girlfriend. Then she appeared in "Birdie Buddy" as Sung Mi Soo.

Her breakthrough role took place in the weekend drama, "Ojakkyo Brothers," "playing Baek Ja Eun. She is a long-term cast member of the variety show "Barefooted Friends" along with Eunhyuk, Kim Hyun Joong and Yoon Si Yoon.

"Golden Rainbow" will begin filming in September and air in November after "Scandal" finishes. Kang Dae Sun will direct.
