Xbox One Backwards Compatibility: 'BurnOut Paradise' To Return Among Top Xbo 360 Titles

Online gamers have a reason to rejoice as Xbox One backwards compatibility brings the critically acclaimed 2008 racing game 'Burnout Paradise' will be playable on Xbox One. UK-based developer, Criterion Games has confirmed the new on their Twitter account in an exchange with a fan.

However , they also stated that players will need to stay tuned for an official release date. Burnout Paradise' on the Xbox 360, will be backwards compatible on the Xbox One. The game is just the latest to join the ever-growing list of backwards compatible Xbox 360 titles coming to the Xbox One, said TechTimes.

The game was originally launched in January 2008. The game had received critical acclaim with aggregate score sites GameRankings reporting an average score of 88% and Metacritic reporting an average score of 88 out of 100, said Gamepur. The developer then moved on to EA's Need for Speed franchise. While that series has adopted much of Burnout's style over the years, there hasn't been a new entry in the series in over seven years, said Gameranx.

Criterion games had said earlier in July that it was working with Microsoft to add the game to the Xbox One's backwards compatibility lineup. Backwards compatibility for Xbox 360 titles is currently available on Xbox One for Preview Program members only.  

According to the sources, the feature will be rolled out for everyone. The latest update included w=ith New Xbox One Experience is already set to arrive in November 2015, said GameSpot. At that time, more than 100 games will be supported through backwards compatibility while more will be added thereafter.

The 100 games will be playable via back compatibility on the day it launches. DLC, cloud saves and multiplayer are all supported, since the game is running on an emulated Xbox 360 system within the new firmware, said Eurogamer.
