Picture perfect couple Liam Payne and Sophia Smith broke up a few days after cancelation of their Belfast concert.

After two years of relationship, the news of Payne and Smith breaking up came as shock to their couple's fans. The information about the split came in just few days after "One Direction" was compelled to cancel their Belfast concert due to Payne's sudden illness.

Last Tuesday, the Belfast concert was called off by "One Direction," just half an hour before they were about to appear on stage since Payne wasn't well enough to perform.

Payne, 22 is reportedly under distress since his split with Smith, 21, but he will try and keep his mind off it by staying busy.

"Liam and Sophia have split," a source confirmed Hollywood Life. "Liam is incredibly sad, but is going to keep busy. He really hopes that everybody will respect both his and Sophia's privacy and stop speculating," added the source.

Music might help the singer to get past his recent split. "I love how music is always there for you when you need it most," posted Payne in Twitter on Oct 23.

Liam Payne And Sophia Smith Parting Ways Is Yet Another Sad News For "One Direction"

The breakup news of Payne and Smith was just another heart-break for "One Direction" after the news of Zayn Malik's departure from the band that came in March and Louis Tomlinson's separation from his long-term girlfriend Eleanor Calder, earlier this year.

Payne and Smith reportedly started dating in 2013, but they have known each other as early as their schooldays in Wolverhampton. The couple had supported one another all along and had been talking about tying the nuptial knot, before the shocking information of their split came in.

"We have talked about marriage, but 22 seems a bit young for us. Sophia needs to go off and do what she wants to do. I don't want her to be one of those stay-at-home girlfriends who doesn't really do much," Payne said, reported Mail Online.
