Shawn Mendes To Release New Songs; Fans Excited Over 'Stiches' Singer's Album Relaunch

Following the success of his song, "Stiches," Shawn Mendes is reportedly ready to give his fans more of his own brand of music this month.

According to reports, Shawn Mendes's album "Handwritten" will have a re-release this month entitled "Handwritten revisited."

The album re-release will reportedly include four new tracks that the "Stiches" singer has written this year.

"I'm so excited to be able to share new songs on Handwritten Revisited both as a thank you to my fans and also to show my progression over the last year," Shawn reportedly told MTV News.

"I wrote all of the new songs over the past few months on the road, and they really speak to where I am right now as a songwriter. I've already performed a few of them live, like 'Act Like You Love Me' and 'Memories,' and can't wait until people can hear the recordings of those finally."

Shawn Mendes has been gaining a lot of popularity for "Stiches," and the press is starting to take notice.

"A curious song is sliding up the pop charts. Two weeks ago, Shawn Mendes' "Stitches' stood at number eight on the Hot 100. In two weeks its position has doubled to the number four slot," Nick Messitte wrote in his article for Forbes.

"I find this odd because in style, production and execution, this song has little to do with its contemporaries. There is, in fact, there's much to separate it from the rest of the chart."

According to Messitte, some could question why Shawn Mendes' "Stiches" climbs up the charts this October when the song was actually released in March.

" its apparent difference, in relation to the rest of the chart, allows the song to distinguish itself, and we the audience have taken note," the Forbes contributor wrote.

"In noticing of this distinction, we should also point out something in common between the top five songs in the country right now: the usual chord progressions of pop music - as we've analyzed them, many times - are not present in any of these tunes. It's as though we, the audience of deciders, have collectively had enough of the same old musical shtick."
