The upcoming "Warcraft" movie finally released a trailer earlier last week that made its fans excited despite the fact that it was very short.

Legendary Pictures released a longer trailer before the weekend, which provided a solid look at the movie which is directed by Duncan Jones and will arrive in theaters on June 10 next year, said Slash Gear. The two-minute footage expanded the short snippets the public have already seen.

The "Warcraft" movie trailer opened with a gryphon hovering over snowy mountains to a magical tower, which is either the Krazhan tower or human city home Dalaran. As it started with a peaceful state, with the narration: "For years, our world has  been in peace. But something is coming. I can feel it. Dark forces are upon us."

A united force of foes is coming that will make the world collide, front and center. "As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction."

The "Warcraft" movie trailer showed the main stars. It has Dominic Cooper, Daniel Wu, Paula Patton, Rob Kazinsky, Ben Foster, Ben Schnetze and Ruth Negga among others. Director Jones hopes the movie will appeal to the masses, even those who do not play massively multiplayer online games, such as, "World of Warcraft," where the game is based on.

The game has drawn millions of fans worldwide since it debuted in 2004. According to io9, the hit video game is packed with Easter eggs, hints and secrets.

Travis Fimmel plays the knight who serves the Alliance, Sir Anduin Lothar, while Toby Kebbel is Durotan, the chief of the exiled Frostwolf clan of orcs.

"Comic book movies are having a high right now and I think that's because the guys making them were comic book readers growing up. My generation of movie-makers, a lot of us grew up playing computer games," Jones stated.

Jones added that video games are the particular passion of today's generation, and creating movies based on them has a potential hit. Game developers Blizzard Entertainment as well as Legendary Pictures announced the "Warcraft" film adaptation in 2006.
