Queen of Pop Madonna got a bit emotional at a concert in Stockholm, on Saturday, when she stopped her performance to pay tribute to the Paris terror attack victims.

"This whole show is about celebrating life. And standing up for your rights. Fighting for what you believe in," said Madonna, reported USAToday.

"It's been very hard for me to get through this show and not forget about what happened last night. So I need to take this moment to acknowledge the tragedy, the tragic killings, assassinations, and the senseless endings of precious life that occurred last night in Paris," she said.

The singer said she was very disturbed the entire day and that it was very difficult for her to get through the show as she was shattered by the incident. The reason why she was on stage dancing and performing while people in Paris were crying over the loss of their loved ones was that she wanted to stand up to the terrorists, and not let them stop anyone doing what they want.

"We will never let them! Because there is power in unity and I do believe that as much chaos and pain and senseless violence and terrorism that occurs around this world - not just in Paris - as much as that does occur, there is more goodness in this world. We are here to prove it," the singer added, according to USMagazine.

The megastar, 57, said she originally thought about canceling Saturday's show in the wake of the Paris terrorist attacks, but then she reconsidered her decision. She asked the audience why should they allow the terrorists to stop them from enjoying freedom.

Madonna also asked the audience to hold a moment of silence to pay tribute to the victims of the attacks. After dabbing her nose and eyes with a tissue, the iconic pop singer went on to perform an acoustic version of "Like a Prayer," reported BillBoard.

Later that night, Madonna also posted about the show on social networking site Facebook saying she felt like they were "turning darkness into light."
